The Kentucky Land Title Association (KYLTA) is a statewide trade association representing the land title industry in Kentucky. With members throughout Kentucky, KYLTA membership comprises of title insurance agents, real estate attorneys and underwriters to doing business in Kentucky. KYLTA is affiliated with the American Land Title Association, the national association for the land title insurance industry. We are dedicated to educating the consumer on the true value of title insurance
KYLTA members provide certainty, efficiency and security to real estate transactions by conducting title searches, examinations, closings, and issuing title insurance to protect real property owners and mortgage lenders against losses from defects in titles.
KYLTA provides a comprehensive program of regulatory and legislative advocacy on the state and federal level, a educational resources, and the most up-to-date industry news and information through our e-newsletters and website. KYLTA plays a vital role in the success of the land title industry in Kentucky, and continues to be a vibrant and responsive organization for the benefit of the members and consumers it serves.
ALTA Rolls Out Best Practices
The American Land Title Association (ALTA) recently published its "Title Insurance and Settlement Company Best Practices." The new guidelines are intended to serve as a benchmark for the mortgage lending and real estate settlement industry to protect consumers, promote quality service, provide ongoing employee training and meet legal and market requirements. Meeting the Best Practices is a voluntary decision by title insurance and settlement companies. We encourage you to read the full Best Practices document here.

CFPB Mortgage Disclosure Rule Target Date: Sept. 2013
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) published its semi-annual regulatory agenda in the Federal Register. According to the posting, the Bureau intends to issue a final rule on their project to combine the disclosure and settlement forms in September 2013.
